Ecuador: a teenage prostitution ring
0

The teenagers recruited by gangs from impoverished neighborhoods would go to parties allegedly in exchange for money, alcohol, and gifts.

A North American citizen, manager of an oil company, is allegedly the ringleader of a plot of sex parties, drugs, and prostitution of teenagers from impoverished neighborhoods in Quito.

The Ecuadorian Police arrested a 75-year-old North American engineer from Houston who is believed to be the leader of a plot of sex parties, drugs, prostitution, and pornographic videos. According to the first investigations, “El Abuelo” (translates to The Grandfather) organized sexual events with minors of both genders at his apartment in an expensive neighborhood in the North of Quito.

The teenagers recruited by gangs from impoverished neighborhoods would go to parties allegedly in exchange for money, alcohol, and gifts. The North American citizen financed the sexual encounters and it is believed that he filmed them as well, although is not certain that he also sold those videos.

This investigation was open after the death of a teenager, Carolina Andrago, who died after being drugged and sexually assaulted. A teenage gang member, known as “Careniña” is believed to be the liaison for parties organized by “El Abuelo”. Both, “Careniña” and “El Abuelo” are imprisoned while they wait for the results of new investigations. The family of the deceased teenager fears that this North American citizen may be able to use connections to outwait justice. He has not been linked to the death of the teenager, the main suspect is “Careniña” who was in a relationship with Carolina.
